Mental health activist, Gabrielle O’Neil shares her story as well as talking about suicide prevention and mental health among the queer community.
Gabby is a writer, an artist, a professional fort builder, an eternal student, and an athlete. She has worked as a peer specialist for the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Waukesha and NAMI Milwaukee as well as partnering with Mental Health America and WISE (Wisconsin Initiative for Stigma Elimination). In addition to youth mentoring, volunteering and activism, Gabrielle believes that visibility and stigma reduction is at the forefront of her personal efforts in suicide prevention. Through sharing her story she wants people to feel less alone, to feel a sense of hope.
